Indicators:

  • (30, 60, 30, close) (senior MACD)

  • (6, 12, 5, close) (junior MACD)

  • (60, close)

Key conditions:

The strategy is designed for D1 timeframes, trading EUR/USD, GBP/USD, and USD/JPY currency pairs. Entry is made at the opening of the next bar after all conditions are satisfied. Stop Loss should be set at 50 to 70 points.

BUY conditions (all conditions must be met):

  • The price is trading above the SMA (60).

  • The senior MACD is above the zero line.

  • The junior MACD is above the zero line or rising from below near the balance line.

SELL conditions (all conditions must be met):

  • The price is trading below the SMA (60).

  • The senior MACD is below the zero line.

  • The junior MACD is below the zero line or moving upward near the balance line.

Exit criteria:

Close the trade after the senior MACD reverses direction and the junior MACD histogram confirms the reversal. Additionally, close the trade immediately if the next candle closes against the position, crossing the SMA (60).

Exercise:

Open a chart with a D1 timeframe. Apply the SMA indicator with a period of 60 (close). Add two MACD indicators: the senior MACD with settings (30, 60, 30, close) and the junior MACD with settings (6, 12, 5, close).

For a BUY trade, ensure the price is above the SMA (60), the senior MACD is above zero, and the junior MACD is either above zero or moving upward near the balance line. Enter the trade at the opening of the next bar, setting a Stop Loss of 50 to 70 points.

For a SELL trade, confirm the price is below the SMA (60), the senior MACD is below zero, and the junior MACD is either below zero or moving upward near the balance line. Enter the trade and manage it similarly. Exit trades based on a senior MACD reversal confirmed by the junior MACD or if a candle closes against the position, crossing the SMA (60).
